This is Pace's new 80mm travel cross-country fork. It weighs 1.42kg and it is employed by the Specialized XC team, including latest Commonwealth gold medallist Liam Killeen. The cold-forged, heat-treated and CNC'd crown is hollow and it's ovalised arms to assist in making it one of the stiffest and lightest forks on the market. A new wet lube system with double lip seals and a froth lube ring also keeps the stanchions sliding smoothly, with nil breakaway force required ( i.e.
A positive air chamber mixes with a negative coil spring to offer a plush, liquid, coil-like ride but with a pleasant ramp-up to stop the fork getting bogged down at the end of the compression stroke.
Try the shocking new Hollowform carbon-fibre slider- based primarily on the proved RC40 but with even more galvanizing curves. Certain to keep the front wheel online and accurately tracking thru those annoying ruts and roots. We've ridden the RC39 XC hard for many months and we will be able to now say it's the best performing cross-country fork available. This could be a pretty bold statement but the bottom line is that this may be a great cross country suspension fork and whilst you can spend a ton more cash if you would like to, the Pace RC39 XC will do just as well for less money.
