If you aren't familiar with Fox Racing shocks then you should know that they have a reputation for providing a silky smooth ride over even the roughest of terrain. The Fox Racing 36 Van is no exception and it is a great choice for the budget conscious rider that wants a shock that can tame a mountain yet not break the bank.

The Fox Racing 36 Van has a new steerer and crown that were put on a diet and dropped approximately 100 grams. Fox Racing shocks also include additional coil springs to more closely match different rider weights. A very nice option.

Fox Racing Van shocks have also redesigned the FIT damper system to provide a super smooth ride even in the rough stuff and while it can't tame everything, it does a nice job of most terrain that the average rider will encounter.

We aren't the biggest fan of the 20QR screw-through axle as it is more complicated than the Maxle (Rockshox) that we are more familiar with but we must admit, it is reliable and provides a positive and stable feel as well as excellent braking stability when the binders turn on. A nice feature that we feel is worth mentioning are the stepped dropouts that make wheel installation simple.
